Quorum is built by Synthetic Schematics LLC. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the Quorum Civil app or the Quorum Works dashboard, how we use it, and your rights over it. We have written this in plain language — if anything is unclear, email us at privacy@synthetic-schematics.com.
_ what we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you submit a community issue, we collect the issue description, photos you attach, and the GPS coordinates or municipality you associate with the report. When you vote on or interact with issues, we record that activity against your account.
If you sign up for Quorum Works as a municipal subscriber, we collect your organization name, billing contact, and payment method (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers).
We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser or device type, and pages visited. We do not sell this data or use it for advertising.
_ how we use it
Issue reports, photos, and votes are used to populate the community feed visible to other residents in your municipality and the Quorum Works dashboard visible to authorized municipal staff.
Issue text and photos are sent to Anthropic's API for AI-assisted classification (e.g., determining whether a report is a road issue, drainage issue, or public safety concern). This classification is used to route issues to the correct municipal department. We do not use your data to train third-party AI models.
Your email address is used to send account confirmations, issue resolution notifications, and — if you opt in — periodic product updates. We do not send marketing email without explicit consent.
_ third-party processors
We use the following third-party services to operate Quorum. Each processes data only as necessary to deliver the service:
Supabase
Authentication and database hosting. User accounts, issues, votes, and session tokens are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
Cloudinary
Photo storage and delivery. Images you upload with issue reports are stored and served via Cloudinary.
Anthropic
AI issue classification. Issue text and images are sent to Anthropic's API to determine issue category and department routing.
Stripe
Payment processing for Quorum Works subscriptions. Stripe handles all payment card data under PCI-DSS compliance. We receive only a subscription status token.
_ data retention
Account data and issue history are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information (name, email) is removed within 30 days. Issue reports you submitted may remain in anonymized form to preserve municipal records.
Server logs are retained for 90 days.
_ your rights
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, or request deletion of your account and associated data, by emailing privacy@synthetic-schematics.com. We will respond within 30 days.
You may update your name and email from within the app at any time. You may unsubscribe from non-essential email by clicking the unsubscribe link in any message we send.
Residents in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA respectively. Contact us at the address below to exercise those rights.
